![]() It's not hard, and you'll thank yourself in the long run. they're literally the same software on the back end, after all. Really though, if you've used Streamlabs, it should only take you 10-20 minutes of messing with OBS Studio to be right at home. There are plenty of tutorials on YouTube for how to use OBS I'd recommend Nerd Or Die's series (though it is a bit older), or EposVox's quickstart. OBS also has an IMMENSE library of add-ons and plugins to extend the base functionality to do some truly incredible and amazing things, for those creative enough to put them together in new and interesting/weird ways. So if you can do without the extra features, OBS. It uses fewer system resources, and is just about on-par as far as difficulty goes (the whole 'easier' thing is just marketing to lure newbies in who don't know any better, then arm-twist them toward the paid options). Since SLOBS boasts of more advanced features, it, unfortunately, takes up more CPU usage than OBS Studio. OBS Studio is what Streamlabs modify to make their version. These plugins can range from extremely sophisticated audio filters, complex overlays and transitions, and even things like double PC streams using the NDI plugin.Īll of these features might sound complex and scary but honestly, for the past couple of years, even OBS Studio has made big strides towards high customizability and user-friendliness. OBS Studio thrives on plugins that allow for extreme levels of details and customization. The reason why OBS Studio survived for so long is the open-source philosophy that allowed it to evolve with the help of the community that kept developing new plugins for the program. All of OBS's features are also free to use, whereas Streamlabs has some of its best features only available on its paid plan. This is simply because OBS Studio has A LOT of advanced functions and capabilities. Is Streamlabs better than OBS Streamlabs can be somewhat easier to use than OBS, but OBS uses fewer processing resources on your computer. OBS Studio is nowhere near as user-friendly as SLOBS and is not necessarily the best choice for novice streamers.
